‘Interior’ depts to discuss ways to tackle ‘incidents’ Nahj bloc to hold rallies to amend Constitution
KUWAIT CITY, June 22: The Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Humoud was quoted as saying the Special Forces Department and the General Administ-ration of Criminal Investigations held meetings Thursday morning to discuss ways to contain untoward incidents in the country following the Constitutional Court ruling declaring the 2012 National Assembly null and void and reinstating the 2009 Parliament, reports Al-Dar daily quoting reliable sources.
“The meetings were attended by senior officials from these departments. During the meeting they discussed mechanism to be adopted during gatherings and/or street protests.
It is added their job is to monitor all sites and people who do not respect the law. Moreover, the officials will document acts of people who use abusive language against politicians and senior leadership.
Moreover, it has reported Thursday many security agencies were seen ‘active’ in all governorates either regulating the traffic or monitoring the movement of people and impounding violating vehicles.

Meanwhile, the National Guard and the Kuwaiti Army are expected to participate in controlling the situation should it be necessary, meaning they can be present at any time they are called.
Moreover, the media representative of the Medical Emergencies Department AbdulAziz Bu Humeid has affirmed the mobilization of the department staff to deal with any situation at the Erada Square.
He added the department is always coordinating with the Ministry of Interior and the Special Forces. Moreover, the paramedics are well-trained to face any emergency in the country.
Meanwhile, the Nahj bloc during a meeting which was held two days ago has decided to hold rallies to demand the amendment to the Constitution to rescue the country from what it called ‘the state of instability’, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources.
Among the most important amendment is a demand to prevent the dissolution of the National Assembly during the first two years minimum following its formation.
The group indicated people who took part in the meeting have yet to decide on the timing of the demonstrations. However, it is expected to happen over the next few days.
It has been reported Nahj comprises members from the Islamic Constitutional Movement, the Popular Labor Bloc, Salafist Movement, Thawabit and the Students Union.
The group also said the decision to take to the street is not related to the lawmakers’ decision and added the MPs are free to agree to anything.
