Asian arrested with stolen iron rods, copper cables

KUWAIT CITY, June 22 :  Patrolmen from the Night Squad have arrested an Asian man for possessing stolen iron rods, copper cables and electric wires, reports Annahar daily.
According to security source the suspect was caught in the vicinity of Amghara Scrapyard.
The security sources said when the suspect saw the police patrol he tried in vain to escape.
During interrogation he admitted to stealing the contraband from building under construction.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Inmate stabs self: A Jordanian Central Prison inmate who was allegedly complaining about a decision to put him in solitary confinement is said to have stabbed himself, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The victim has been admitted to a hospital under police guard.
The man is said to have stabbed himself in the stomach.

Bootleggers held: The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Asian man for bootlegging and seized from him 180 bottles of alcohol, reports Annahar daily.
According to security sources the man was taken into custody in Abu Halifa on suspicion.
When police ordered the man to pull over, he looked nervous. Police then checked his vehicle and seized the bottles of liquor.
During interrogation he admitted that he is jobless. He also said he sold each home manufactured bottle of alcohol for KD 5.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities for investigation.
Meanwhile, the Jahra police have arrested an Indian man for bootlegging, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to security sources the man is working for a restaurant as a delivery man and he used his position to his advantage to deliver liquor.
Security sources said police acting on a tip-off arrested the man and searched his vehicle and seized from him locally-manufactured liquor.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Guard assaulted: Police are looking for two unidentified persons for assaulting a security guard at the Palace of Justice, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The security guard has filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station. In his complaint the guard said the men beat him because he prevented them from parking their vehicle in the parking lot reserved for employees.
The men beat him and escaped. He has provided police with the car plate number of their vehicle.
The guard has submitted a medical report showing injuries on his body.
