‘Wanted’ man held receiving cargo of 1,554 cartons of liquor bottles Egyptian teacher’s jewellery worth KD 10,000 stolen

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: A Kuwaiti citizen was recently arrested for receiving 1,554 cartons of liquor bottles which were smuggled into the country via a ship.
According to security sources, when the Directorate General for Drug Control received information from a source that a ship carrying a cargo of liquor bottles will arrive at Kuwait Port, a team was formed with the coordination of the General Customs Department for investigations.
At the port, they observed the unloading of two containers that they suspected contained the illicit cargo. They followed the vehicle as it transported the containers from the port to an area where a man received the goods. They immediately surrounded the suspect and checked the containers to find several cartons of liquor of different brands.
When they checked the details of the receiver, they discovered that he is a Kuwaiti citizen who was wanted by law for his involvement in several criminal cases.
He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities along with the cartons of liquor for necessary legal action against him.

Teacher’s jewelry stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into the home of an Egyptian teacher working for the Ministry of Education and stealing jewelry worth      KD 10,000, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief.

Attempt to murder case filed: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police in the Capital governorate accusing an unidentified person of beating him and attempting to run over him with his car, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In his complaint the man said as he stepped out of his house in Doha, the suspect whom he does not know, attacked him and then tried to run over him with his car and escaped.
A case of assault and attempt to murder have been registered at the Sulaibikhat Police Station.

Laptop stolen from home: An Asian man has filed a complaint with the Fahaheel police accusing an unidentified person of breaking into his apartment and stealing his laptop, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief.

Iranian injured in fall: An unidentified Iranian man who fell from a building under construction has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Acting on information paramedics rushed to the spot and took the man to the hospital.
