Two arrested near US embassy in possession of ‘hashish’ Maid admits stealing, selling sponsor’s jewellery
KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Securitymen posted at the US Embassy have recently arrested two Kuwaitis for possessing hashish, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the men were taken into custody for driving around the embassy premises.
A police patrol was alerted and when the men saw the police car they tried in vain to escape.
They have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.
Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti youth who was arrested by a police patrol for possessing hashish, has been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control, reports Annahar daily.
According to security sources the suspect was arrested in Salmiya at a checkpoint.
Maid steals jewelry: The Jabriya police have arrested an unidentified Sri Lankan maid for stealing the jewelry of her sponsor in Jabriya, reports Al-Shahed daily.
During interrogation the maid is said to have admitted to committing the theft. She also told police she sold the jewelry to an unidentified shop in Jleeb and spent the money.
She has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified Ethiopian maid for stealing money and jewelry from her sponsor, reports Annahar daily.
A case has been filed against her at the Maidan Hawalli Police Station.
Her details have been circulated at all exit points and a travel ban has been slapped on her.
Sheep worth KD 14,000 stolen: Police are looking for some gangsters who allegedly broke into a livestock pen in Kabd and stole 50 sheep worth KD 14,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the bedoun owner of the pen has filed a complaint with the Kabd Police Station.
Youths beat, rob Egyptian: An unidentified Egyptian man working for the fast food restaurant has filed a complaint with the police accusing a gang of youth of beating him and stealing his money, reports Annahar daily.
In his complaint the victim said the gang blocked his way and forced him to stop.
One of them then approached him and ordered him to hand over his money.
When he refused the gang pounced on him, stole his wallet, beat him and escaped. The wallet contained KD 100.
The incident happened in Jahra when he was on his way to deliver food.
Youth stabs friend: Police are looking for an unidentified youth for stabbing his friend over an earlier dispute. The incident happened in Taima, Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily.
Without going into details the daily said the victim has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Jahra Hospital.
He was rushed to the hospital by his father.
