‘Vote for right people, unite’ - Bloc leads way

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: The youth bloc Ahrar Al-Kuwait has launched a project to encourage citizens to unite and vote for better candidates in the parliamentary elections, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The bloc believes the best way to resolve the major political problems in Kuwait is to encourage people to vote for suitable candidates and also select lawmakers without bias, sectarianism or tribalism to pave the way for various groups in the society to compete in the parliamentary and municipal elections.
The bloc aims to bolster the concept of national unity in society, and face up to all kinds of political corruption, as members of the bloc will use the latest technology to communicate with electorate through seminars, symposia and visual and legible interviews.
Meanwhile, members of the majority bloc in the annulled 2012 parliament are keen on safety and security of Kuwait, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
MP Falah Al-Sawagh made the disclosure during a meeting at his diwaniya recently, and added the majority bloc will keep pressing for constitutional reform. He stressed the bloc aspires to protect Kuwait, its institutions, and the ruling family, and they will not leave Kuwait to corrupt people.
The bloc members also agreed on modifying the Constitution and the government. They wonder why the National Assembly has been dissolved over six times within six years.
Meanwhile, in a related development,  several economists warned that extending the administration of the acting government will affect the economic situation of the country, especially when there are several crucial decisions to be taken that are related to the economy of the nation, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily.
Reportedly, the undersecretaries and heads of executive departments of the state were surprised to hear the news of the government’s resignation, which was announced three days before.
Under the circumstances, they were forced to manage all matters of the nation whereby they postponed the implementation of all crucial decisions until the new government was formed.
