Watermelon hawker attacks, flees police 7 trespassers assault family

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Police are looking for a watermelon seller for attempting to run over a policeman, crashing into a police vehicle and attempting to attack the policeman with a sharp object, reports Al-Rai daily.
This happened when personnel from the Kuwait Municipality arrested the suspect for selling watermelons off the Fourth Ring Road and parking his vehicle in the No Parking zone.
He was taken to the Rawda Police Station. A policeman accompanied the hawker and went to the place where he had parked his vehicle. He ordered the man to put the watermelons back into the vehicle. At this point the hawker drove off with his vehicle and attempted to run over the policeman and sped off.
The policeman chased the hawker and forced him to stop. The hawker climbed out of the vehicle and rushed at the policeman to stab him with a sharp object and escaped on foot.
The car of the hawker has been impounded. Police are in the process of identifying the owner of the vehicle.

Family attacked: Police are looking for seven people for breaking into a house in Sulaibikhat and assaulting members of a family, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said one of the members of the family received a call from a friend and the latter requested him to meet him to solve a dispute over money matters. However, he was shocked to find seven other people with the friend. The men then broke into the house and started beating the members of the family, mainly the brothers of the victim.
One of them was seriously injured. He has been admitted to a hospital.

Drug pills seized: Police have arrested an unidentified person for possessing narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police patrol on routine duty in Al-Riqei suspected a person standing in front of a grocery and when the police car drove in the direction of the suspect he attempted to run.
When police arrested him they discovered he was not carrying any identification papers. Police have seized from him 10 Roche tablets and 9 Tramadol pills.
He has been referred to the concerned authorities.
