Vice squad targets prostitution, gambling in chalets & stables 69 bottles of liquor seized from two Asian expats

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: The General Department for Criminal Investigation recently raided several suspect apartments where illegal activities go on unabated such as prostitution and gambling, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to sources many owners of apartments are forced to abandon these apartments or sell them to others so that the ‘rogues’ can continue their activities.
The sources added people advertise about their activities on the electronic media and website and smart phones and most of these advertisements are overlooked.
The sources added during the raid many people were caught red-handed. One of those arrested was an Arab woman who was caught for using her apartment for gambling.
The sources went on to say instructions have been issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major-General AbdulHameed Al-Awadi on the necessity to uproot this vice from society.
According to reliable security sources next in line for raid are places such as the chalets and stables in Kabd and Jahra.

27 illegals held: Personnel from the Night Squad patrol force recently raided the Amghara Scrapyard and the surrounding areas and arrested 27 people of various nationalities for violating residence and labor laws, reports Annahar daily.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities.


Sadr apologizes: Senior Shiite leader and head of the Sadr political current in Iraq, Moqtada Al-Sadr has apologized to Kuwait for the offensive language used by some of his followers against Kuwait. He said he is ready to send them to Kuwait to convey their apologies, reports Al-Dar daily.
Speaking on the alleged attack launched against him by MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei, Al-Sadr said, “You are misled. I did not and I will not interfere in Syrian affairs. Moreover, nobody who does not belong to Syria can interfere in the internal affairs of Damascus. However, I sympathize with nations whatever they are and wherever they are.”
He also invited the Kuwaiti lawmaker Waleed Al-Tabtabaei to visit him in Al-Najaf, Iraq.

Young woman harassed:
A young Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified person of harassing her, reports Annahar daily.
In her complaint the woman said the suspect keeps calling her on her cell phone and inviting her to his apartment. When she refused, he offered to pay her money.
The complainant said when she asked him how he got her cell phone number he said he got it from one of her colleagues.
The suspect will be summoned for interrogation.

Man held with drugs: An unidentified GCC citizen who was caught driving under the influence of drugs and in possession of a quantity of heroin in a suburb of Qasser, has been referred to the General Department for Drug Control, reports Annahar daily.
Some sources said the suspect was arrested while he was fast asleep in his car in the parking lot of a private home.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Southern Highway Patrol have arrested a 23-year-old Kuwaiti for possessing drugs, reports Annahar daily.
According to security sources the suspect was caught while on his way to Bneid Al-Gar chalets. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Stealing candy bars: The Jahra police have arrested an unidentified young man for stealing expensive candy bars from a food outlet, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources a CCTV camera installed in the shop spotted the man hiding candies in his pockets.
The staff then waited for the man to exit the cash counter without paying for the food and arrested him and handed him over to the police.
