MoE follows Civil Service Commisons only Kuwaitis policy Expats removed from committees

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Ministry of Education has started executing the decision of Civil Service Commission (CSC) to reduce the teams and committees formed in governmental agencies and ministries so that they would only comprise of Kuwaitis, reports Al-Jaridah daily quoting informed sources.

Reportedly, CSC addressed Ministry of Education last April regarding the legalization of the teams formed for certain tasks, which are assignments that the personnel are carrying out in order to benefit from the remunerations as they were receiving extra payment for those tasks.

In response to CSC’s instructions, the Minister of Education Nayef Al-Hajraf demanded all sectors  affiliated to the ministry to exclude the names of expatriates from the list of teams and committees and to include only the name of Kuwaitis. He had also refused to sign the commissioning decisions that included the names of expatriates.

Sources also specified that some employees are not keen on completing the tasks assigned to them, claiming that they are demanding for additional payment for those tasks.

Furthermore, sources revealed that the minister agreed to include an advisor working at the office of the Undersecretary after some ministerial officials tried to convince him to exclude some advisors from the decision.
