Police suspect $150,000 with expat forged Kuwaiti attempts suicide
KUWAIT CITY, July 2: The Salmiya police have arrested an unidentified expatriate in possession of $150,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The money has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Department to check if the banknotes are forged.
However, during interrogation the expatriate claimed he has a partner and they trade in foreign currency.
The partners will be summoned for interrogation.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old Kuwaiti man, who tried in vain to end his life by consuming a large quantity of medicine pills is recuperating in a hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily without going into details said the man was rushed to a hospital and given stomach wash. A case of suicide attempt has been registered against him.
In another development, a Turkish woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her Jordanian husband of betrayal of trust, reports Al-Shahed daily. The wife said she entrusted her husband to sell her car and the latter after selling the car disappeared with the money.
When police called the husband, he refused to go to the police station. A warrant for his arrest has been issued.
