KUWAIT CITY, July 3: Police are investigating on the death of an Asian housemaid who died in mysterious circumstances, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources when the maid was critically ill, the sponsor rushed her to the Sabah Hospital, but she died a short time later.
Initial examination revealed the housemaid was pregnant and it appears she might have taken ‘unknown’ medicine to kill her fetus. The medicine poisoned her and it led to her death.
The daily did not give more details.

Filipina commits suicide: A Filipino woman has reportedly ended her life by hanging herself with a rope tied to the ceiling of her sponsor’s home in Qadsiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reliable sources when the family felt the absence of the maid they went looking for her in her room.
They discovered the door was bolted from inside. After knocking on the door several times and finding no reply the family informed the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry.
When police forced open the door, they found the corpse of the maid dangling from a rope.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics.

Phone thief nabbed: The Sabah Al-Salem police have arrested a Kuwaiti for stealing cell phones from female shoppers in Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources when several women filed complaints with the police, securitymen with the help of a telecommunications company and the serial number of the stolen devices tracked down an unidentified person who was using one of the stolen phones.
During interrogation he admitted to buying the phone from one of the suspects and guided police to the seller.
The seller presented the Civil ID copy of the person who had sold him the mobile and police set a trap and arrested him.
During interrogation police discovered the man was wanted by law in connection with eight crimes and had been sentenced in absentia to three months imprisonment.
He also told police he had downloaded the data from the stolen cell phones to his personal computer.
Police confiscated the PC and referred the thief to the Public Prosecution.
