KUWAIT CITY, July 7: A group of volunteers are searching for a Kuwaiti citizen who abandoned his ailing Asian housemaid in the Farwaniya Hospital, and the maid died 37 days later due to her serious medical condition, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

It is reported the sponsor did not visit the maid throughout her admission and also declined to provide any personal information to the hospital, although he continued keeping the maid’s passport.

A source said the maid died Friday and some people who know her background want to send the body back to her country, but the deceased’s passport is nowhere to be found.

The source appeals to the sponsor to return the passport because he wouldn’t have to bear any costs.
