KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Security operatives prevented several Bedouns from organizing a demo-nstration at Al-Sha’abi Mosque Friday to demand their rights and Kuwaiti citizenship, rep-orts Al-Seyassah daily.

Security patrol teams urged the demonstrators to vacate the location and shelf the idea of demonstration but they refused. As a result, the officers asked for backup and Special Security Forces surrounded the place immediately. However, the demonstrators dispersed peacefully before the officers could take any action. 

There are rumors that Special Security Forces followed and arrested some demonstrators who fled the spot to the inner roads. It will be recalled the Interior Ministry had announced few days ago that police would not allow any demonstration to take place here, warning of unpalatable consequences against the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution ordered the continual detention of Bedoun arrested at last week Friday’s demonstration until Saturday, due to ongoing investigations.
