New owners target EPL return Al-Hasawis shop for new Forest manager

KUWAIT CITY, July 14, (Agencies): Kuwait’s Al-Hasawi family is looking to restore Nottingham Forest to the English Premier League, hoping to make an appointment to replace Steve Coterrill within a week.
The Kuwait-based family sacked Coterrill just 48 hours after their takeover. Rumor has it that former England boss Glenn Hoddle will most likely replace Coterrill but the owners of Nottingham Forest revealed they have not discussed the possibility with Hoddle.
Speaking to reporters, Abdulaziz Al-Hasawi explained, “Coterril was a good steward for Forest during difficult times but we felt we needed a fresh start. We are in discussions with four or five well-known figures in the football world, who have a perfect understanding of this league. Hopefully in a week all matters should be finalized. We are looking for the best in the business. We will start meeting people within a day. We have to secure this within the next three or four days because we have to get started.”

The Al-Hasawi family took control of Nottingham Forest on Tuesday after buying the controlling stake of the late Nigel Doughty’s share of the club. They have now outlined a plan to restore Forest to the Premier League, but have admitted they know success may not come quickly.
Abdulaziz added, “We have a three to five-year plan to get the club back where it should be. It will require hard work and sacrifice but that is our ambition. It is not about money, it is about ambition.
Football is in our blood. We are in a different league but we have hopes that someday we will be playing Manchester City and Manchester United.”
On the possibility of appointing Harry Redknapp, the family did not confirm anything. Redknapp parted with Tottenham a month ago and he has been linked with the Nottingham Forest job but he told BBC Radio Nottingham he was not interested in the role.
During his time at Tottenham, Redknapp achieved Champions League football and two top four finishes.
Hoddle and Redknapp fit the stellar names the wealthy Kuwaitis are seeking, but Manchester United legend and former Forest midfielder Roy Keane is also in the frame. Other potential appointees include former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy and Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson.
