Egyptian travel agent swindles KD 45,000 in ticket sales Iranian trio held for mugging people
KUWAIT CITY, July 14: A 32-year-old Egyptian expatriate was recently arrested for swindling KD 45,000 from a large number of people mostly Egyptians, reports Al-Anba daily.
Reportedly, the suspect was working in a travel agency in Hawally where he used to take money for booking tickets and refused to return the booking amount after cancelling the reservations.
Several victims lodged complaints against the suspect at various police stations, claiming that they made reservations two to three months prior to the date of journey in order to avail discounts offered by the office, but they neither received the tickets for the journey nor the booking amount.
The fraudster was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
Meanwhile, three Iranians were recently arrested for assaulting some people in Salmiya and taking their money and valuables before escaping, reports Al-Rai daily.
Reportedly, when securitymen received complaints about the three suspects who robbed them in Salmiya, investigations were carried out.
In a trap set by the securitymen, they managed to arrest the Iranians when they attacked an Egyptian expatriate and attempted to steal his watch and KD 350. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
