NYP thanks Amir for fulfilling aspirations of young Kuwaitis His Highness’ role in Olympic decision shows his deep faith in the youth
KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Members of the Youth Preparatory Council, and the Executive Office of the National Youth Program (NYP) today thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his support of Kuwaiti youth and his efforts which led the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to lift the ban on Kuwait Olympic participation, allowing Kuwait to hoist the national flag and play the national anthem at the London Olympics.
His Highness quickly responded to the requests from Kuwait’s youth and proposed a range of effective measures that has resulted in the approval of Kuwait’s request to hoist its national flag at one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events. His Highness’s intervention shows his deep faith in young Kuwaiti athletes competing at the Olympic Games, and their capabilities to elevate the name of Kuwait on an international stage.
Jassim Al Rubayan, Head of the Executive Office said: “Such honorable initiatives are not new to His Highness. He is always the first to make decisions that bring joy to the hearts of his people.
“Members of the Youth Preparatory Council and Executive office in its entirety, extend their thanks and deepest gratitude to His Highness for his concerted efforts that resulted the IOC’s decision. We hope that His Highness’s admirable endeavors help end the continued struggle in the sporting arena in accordance with the constitutional framework.”
The National Youth Program was created in fulfillment of the desire of His Highness to support and nurture young Kuwaitis, help them overcome the obstacles they are facing, and create a way of transforming their creative ideas into reality for the benefit of the future of Kuwait.
Members of the NYP Sport Priority Team are calling upon Kuwaiti youth to submit their initiative ideas to help elevate sport in Kuwait. The motto of this program is “Kuwait is listening” which emphasizes the main objective of this initiative, which is to communicate the voice of Kuwaiti youth with constructive ideas to the appropriate entities. To assist this process the Youth Preparatory Council is developing a national document that will include creative ideas from youth which will be submitted to His Highness next November. In fulfillment of the desire of His Highness, the political leadership, along with its institutions, will listen to the youth of Kuwait. Therefore, NYP welcomes youth to share their opinion about the project and submit their initiative ideas via the project’s website at info@youth.org.kw.
