Kuwaitis injured in Jahra Hospital gang fight 65 citations issued, 14 cars seized
KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Five Kuwaitis sustained various degrees of injuries in a free-for-all fight among eight persons from two groups within the premises of Jahra Hospital on Tuesday.
The feuding parties, who initially clashed outside the hospital, continued their fight inside until the security officers arrested them and referred them to a nearby police station.
Preliminary investigations revealed members of the two groups had a heated argument over earlier disputes, resulting in the fistfight. Security sources revealed the brawl was just one of many observed in the governorate on a daily basis.
In an unrelated incident, two Kuwaiti youths suffered severe injuries after engaging in a public brawl outside Aqua Park. Eyewitnesses called the Operations Room, which dispatched securitymen to the location to control the situation. The injured were taken to Amiri Hospital, while the others were referred to the relevant security department for questioning and other legal action.
Meanwhile, a team of traffic officers launched Tuesday a surprise inspection campaign in Jahra, leading to the issuance of 65 citations and confiscation of 14 vehicles.
The team set up several roadblocks in the governorate to inspect vehicles and track down those who violate traffic rules and regulations. Several violations were recorded during the campaign and the necessary steps have been taken to ensure strict compliance with the law.
Meanwhile, security sources disclosed the traffic campaigns will continue in different parts of the country, especially during weekends, due to the rising number of complaints about the reckless drivers who perform car stunts on the road as they disturb public peace and endanger not only their lives but also that of other road users.
