Filipina maid caught at airport fleeing with gold, ancient coins
KUWAIT CITY, July 19: Police have taken into custody an unidentified Filipino woman for attempting to escape from the country after stealing gold jewelry belonging to her sponsor, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the security sources the sponsor filed a complaint with the Abdullah Al-Salem Police Station when he discovered the theft of the jewelry and ancient coins of immense value.
He pointed a finger of accusation at the maid and the authorities put her name on the blacklist.
It has been reported the maid got a travel document issued by her embassy and was caught before boarding the plane.
During interrogation she is said to have admitted to committing the crime.
She has been referred to the concerned authorities.
Juveniles acquited in theft case: The Criminal Court recently acquitted two juveniles who were accused of posing as police officers and snatching KD 95 from an Asian expatriate by force.
Reportedly, the suspects, posing as police officers, stopped the victim on the road and demanded for his Civil ID. After taking the Civil ID, they assaulted him, forced him to hand over all the money in his possession, and escaped.
After the incident occurred, the victim filed a case at the nearest police station and submitted a medical report to prove that he was injured during the incident.
However, the court acquitted the juveniles from the charge of theft and fined them for assaulting the victim.
