Egyptian manager of large firm held in drug trafficking

KUWAIT CITY, July 22:  The Court of Appeals, chaired by Judge Salah Al-Houti, upheld the verdict of the First Instance Court, which had acquitted an unidentified man of swindling a student by promising to secure admission on his behalf at a university in India.
Case files indicate the student paid the defendant to apply for admission at the university by using his connections through the general trading and contracting company he owns.
According to the defendant’s lawyer - Attorney Mohammad Al-Qattan, his client has presented documents to prove that he applied for admission on behalf of the student.  He argued all the accusations leveled against his client were baseless as the student failed to provide proof.
The court acquitted the defendant after a thorough analysis of the pieces of evidence and arguments presented by both parties.
