Shall not bow
Finally the mask has fallen from the faces of politicians who were planning to hold the nation hostage through blackmail. We are talking of the politicians who have built their strategy by discrediting and tarnishing the image of honest people and damaging their reputation and dignity beyond repair. Time has come for us to ask ourselves: ‘Can we bow to the dictates of the politically-immoral group and accept their views on the 2009 Assembly which was reinstated through the Constitutional Court verdict?
‘Can we bow to the so-called majority in the 2012 Assembly which was declared null and void along with its Speaker? Can we allow to be victimized by the agenda of this group just because they have mastered the art of intimidation and shouting at the top of their voices?’
The events of the past few days have proved beyond doubt that the citizens have finally woken up and will not want to be subjected to their frequent dictates or turn their backs on the constitutionally-elected 2009 National Assembly just to satisfy this group.
Demand
The demand of the people, now, is crystal clear. They want this Assembly to complete its term to the last day and allow the nation to protect its prestige which ‘those’ MPs had tried to ‘murder’ in cold blood.
The fog of the past few days has cleared allowing a majority of the citizens to see things clearly. The State should neither forget the attitudes of ‘those’ politicians nor bow to them again, most importantly because they have lost the little political credibility which they had after they sought to hide behind parliamentary immunity by declaring ‘we are members of the 2009 National Assembly’ when the lawsuit (of breaking into the National Assembly) came up for hearing.
Surprisingly following the Constitutional Court verdict reinstating the 2009 Parliament and declaring null and void the 2012 Parliament, these same members had said they no longer were members of the 2009 ‘Assembly of the Bribed’.
There is no doubt the majority from the nullified National Assembly who won the unconstitutional elections through exaggerated agendas will fight with all their might to impose their point of view and continue to deceive the people with slogans such as ‘the bribed’ and ‘deposits’ and others.
They will continue to damage the reputation and stamp on the dignity of diligent and honest people who have served the nation faithfully because this is how they have built their political careers by feeding on malice and hatred in spite of the fact that they are fully aware investigations and evidence have poured cold water on all their accusations.
The ‘militia of extortion’ will not change its attitude unless and until it is deterred from its path and the first step of deterrence will come in the form of a decision to be taken by the Attorney-General against those who accused others of accepting ‘bribes’ or received millions in their accounts in the form of ‘deposits’.
If the suspects have been proved guilty, they should be punished. But if they are innocent this crucial file in the history of Kuwait should be closed, because this file has tarnished the reputation of the people — people who did not get help to restore their rights because of the terrorism practiced by this militia on all state institutions.
Yes, the citizens are awaiting a decision from the Attorney-General in this crucial case, similarly as they are waiting for the 2009 Assembly to complete its term and correct what has been wronged by the annulled Assembly and its deposed president if the country has to come out of the cycle of crises.
If not, this politically-immoral group will always hold the country hostage and blackmail the nation into submission. It is sad to say, but true this group is only concerned about collecting wealth through extortion and deception.
