Indian expat commits suicide; maid threatens to kill herself

KUWAIT CITY, July 23: A 42-year-old Indian, identified only as A.A., reportedly ended his life by hanging himself with a rope one end tied to a tree in a public park in Abu Halifa and the other around his neck, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Passersby who saw the man dangling from the rope (made of cloth) informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
According to the victim’s friend he was suffering from family problems and his situation worsened when he failed to get a ‘decent’ job.
The friends added over the past few days the victim appeared depressed.

Maid shocks family: An unidentified housemaid, who threatened to end her life by stabbing herself with a knife has been handed over to the Firdous Police Station, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source said the maid was handed over to the police by her Kuwaiti sponsor after she shocked the family who were having breakfast.
She was carrying a knife in her hand and threatened to kill herself if anyone approached her.
The sponsor told police the woman lost self control after she received news from her home that her husband had married another woman and abandoned the children on the street.
A case of suicide attempt has been registered against her. She has also been handed over to the authorities to prepare her deportation.


Illegitimate child: An unidentified Asian housemaid has given birth to an illegitimate child at the Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the woman went to the hospital complaining of stomach pains and she gave birth to a baby through Caesarean section.
During interrogation she admitted to having an affair with her boyfriend who has reportedly left the country.

Theft bid foiled: Police are looking for an unidentified person for attempting to break into a jewelry shop in a commercial complex in Jahra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The thief took advantage that the workers were busy breaking the fast and he allegedly broke open the door of the shop and sneaked in. However, when he felt his movements were being watched by workers in the complex he escaped on foot.
