‘Qaeda attempting to enter Kuwait for sabotage activities’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: An unidentified GCC state has informed the concerned authorities in Kuwait that some al-Qaeda network elements, including an Arab woman, are attempting to enter the country to carry out sabotage activities, reports Al-Horriya daily quoting knowledgeable security sources.
The daily quoting sources said an alert has been sounded and all travelers have been requested to notify the authorities if they suspect any person.

Bedoun arrested: The Sulaibikhat police have arrested an unidentified bedoun believed to be a member of a three-man gang for committing a series of thefts, reports Al-Anba daily.
The thieves have reportedly committed thefts at two branches of the Sulaibikhat Cooperative Society and a branch of the Keifan Cooperative Society in addition to a 2012 model Yukon Jeep belonging to the Ministry of Education.
According to a security source, the suspects used a Pajero Jeep to commit two thefts, then ‘abandoned’ the Pajero and stole the Yukon belonging to the Ministry.
When police identified the owner of the Pajero at first he denied the allegation but later admitted to committing the crime. He also gave police the name of two bedoun accomplices.
He also informed the police they were preparing to steal money from a money exchange in Salhiya.
It has been reported the three persons are drug addicts and they use the stolen money to buy drugs.

Strange objects: Customs officers at the Abdali border post temporarily detained an Iraqi woman for attempting to smuggle strange objects into the country, the type of objects normally used by black magicians, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Among the items seized are feathers of various types of birds and magic charms. She was also reportedly carrying a list of names of Kuwaitis believed to be her clients.
She was released after interrogation but the items have been confiscated by police.
