Lovers plan to leave Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3:: CID men affiliated to the Jabriya Police Station have arrested an unidentified young GCC woman who had allegedly eloped with a young Kuwaiti man and was planning to escape to Iran, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to security sources the couple was arrested in the chalet area.
The arrest came after the woman’s father filed a missing persons report at the Jabriya Police Station.
The complainant told the Jabriya police that he had information that the couple was planning to go to Iran via the sea.
The couple has been referred to the competent authority.
Man wanted in rape case held: he Jahra police have arrested an unidentified Arab man who had been sentenced in absentia to 15 years imprisonment in a kidnap and rape case, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources the suspect who has been evading arrest for a long time was finally taken into custody by the Jahra police.
The security sources added the man was detained on suspicion. He was picked while walking along a road in Jahra. His behavior alerted police and when they took him to the police station for interrogation they discovered he had been sentenced in absentia for 15 years.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Petrol pump cashier stabbed: Police are looking for unidentified assailants who allegedly stabbed the cashier of a petrol station several times with knives and escaped with the money, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to reports when police and paramedics acting on information rushed to the spot they found the victim on the floor in a pool of blood.
The man has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Amiri Hospital.
In the meantime police are waiting for the man to recover to know the details of the suspects and the getaway car.
The sources said the detectives have opened an investigation into the incident and listened to the testimonies of eyewitnesses including a worker at the station and a security guard.
Kuwait returnee shot dead: Unidentified Arab men reportedly killed an Egyptian who had returned from Kuwait with his wife and children, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man reportedly works as a teacher in Kuwait and the suspects seized his vehicle, the luggage, their cell phones and jewelry of his wife.
The incident happened in the vicinity of Fayed, near Islamiya. The 50-year-old teacher was asked to come with 50,000 pounds if he wanted back his car, luggage and the gold of his wife.
The man with his relatives went with the money at a designated spot at Zagazig, about 90 kilometers from Cairo.
Upon arrival the bandits shot the man dead and injured his relative. He has been admitted to the Zagazig Hospital.
Bedoun held for drugs: The Jahra police have arrested an unidentified bedoun man for trafficking in drug pills and hashish, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The suspect was taken into custody in a suburb of Taima. Securitymen have reportedly seized from the man 250 drug pills.
Security sources said a police patrol followed a car driven by the suspect until he parked in the parking lot of a school in the area.
Police have also arrested another man who was in the passenger seat.
Both of them have been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control.
2 Indians robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly broke into the apartment of two Indians in Salmiya and stole 40,000 Indian rupees and KD 100, reports Al-Anba daily.
In their complaint the men said they discovered the theft when they returned home from work.
They suspect the thief entered the apartment through the window.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief.
Gamblers fight in cafe: The Khaitan police have arrested Kuwaitis and Egyptians for gambling inside a café in the area, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily quoting security sources said visitors to the café called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior when the fighters hurled chairs and tables at each other.
When police arrived at the spot they learned the men were gambling and the losers refused to pay KD 90 to the winners.
Those who were injured have been admitted to a hospital and the others taken to a police station.
