Royal accused of ‘stealing’ precious watches
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: An Iranian expatriate and three Egyptians were recently arrested in Amghara for stealing electrical cables.
According to a security source, police on patrol in Jahra stopped the suspects for investigations while they were on road with the cables aboard their vehicle.
When securitymen questioned the suspects, they discovered that the cables were stolen from a construction site in the area.
The suspects were arrested and referred to the concerned authorities with the stolen cables for necessary legal action against them.
Royal ‘steals’ watches: A Lebanese merchant lodged a complaint with officers at Adailiya police station accusing a member of the ruling family of stealing several precious watches worth millions, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Lebanese told police he deals in precious watches, and so he responded to a request by the Sheikha and carried seven precious watches to her house to choose from, as she expressed interest to buy one. Having examined the watches, the Sheikha allegedly kept them and asked him to leave immediately. The Sheikha will be summoned for questioning.
Cable thieves held: A Kuwaiti citizen and two Bedouns were arrested recently for stealing copper cables from farms in Sulaibiya, reports Al-Anba daily.
Reportedly, Jahra police on patrol in the area grew suspicious when a jeep sped after seeing the police. They followed the jeep, which stopped after some distance; however, the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and tried to assault the patrol officers. They were eventually controlled and arrested. On checking the vehicle, they found copper cables, which the suspects revealed were stolen from some farms in the area.
They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
40 phones stolen: Police are on the lookout for certain unidentified individuals who broke into a store that sold mobile phones and escaped with 40 mobile phones, reports Al-Anba daily.
Reportedly, when securitymen received information about the theft from the owner of the shop, they rushed to the location for investigations. They reviewed the incident, which was recorded by the CCTV camera installed in the store. The records revealed that the masked thieves broke the windows to enter into the store and grabbed the mobile phones that were placed on the shelves before escaping.
Personnel from Criminal Evidence Department arrived at the location to collect evidences and lift fingerprints to identify the culprits.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspects.
