KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Minister of Health Dr Ali Al-Obeidi has issued a decision to form the Nursing Advisory Council (NAC) for the benefit of the members of nursing staff. The council will continue to impart continued medical education, reports Al-Seyassah.

According to reliable sources Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Technical Affairs Dr Khaled Al-Sahlawi will be in charge of the Council which will also consist of some specialists as members.
The NAC has been formed keeping in mind the general plans and policies related to the profession of nursing in order to improve the performance of nurses and help them cope with international standards of the nursing profession.

Moreover, it has been said a study was carried out to determine the future manpower needs and the average distribution of nursing staff in various centers and based on that prepare learning and training programs for this sector.

It was also reported of the council will follow every movement in that domain related to the professional performance, revise the standards of the nursing care and follow the reports issued by the international organizations and agencies to promote the nursing performance and cooperate with the ministries and government agencies in that regard.

Meanwhile, the Dasman Diabetes Institute organized a seminar under the title ‘Therapy in Children Pumps’ through which a lecture was given by the Pediatric specialist at the University of South California Prof Francine Kaufman.

During the meeting, Prof Kaufman discussed all issues related to the Insulin Pump including ways of its use and the latest results, studies and searches about that pump.

Ii has been mentioned also that at the end of the seminar, Prof Kaufman met a group of specialists and doctors for other medical issues related to obesity and type 2 Diabetes in children.
