KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor until Nov 1, 2012 will allow domestic workers to transfer their visas from Article 20 to Article 18, refuting the date would be extended for that purpose, reports Al-Qabas.

The daily quoting reliable sources said there’s no truth in the news item published in the local dailies recently saying the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has extended the date until Feb 2013 for the transfer of Article 20 to Article 18.

In a related development, sources revealed the Labor Sector has suggested the working hours must be extended until 3:00 pm instead of 1:00 pm, in order to resolve the shortage in many government agencies. It also proposed that personnel working during the period must be paid overtime.

In the meantime, the working period has been extended in many sectors, including Labor Departments in the Capital and Hawalli governorates, as well as the Administration for Government Contracts.

Sources noted many problems related to work transactions, especially in this Ramadan when many employees are on vacation, have been resolved.
