KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: An Ethiopian housemaid tried to commit suicide recently in Mahboula due to bad treatment by her Kuwaiti sponsors.
According to sources, when the victim felt pressurized by the demands of her sponsors and could not bear their bad treatment towards her, she attempted to commit suicide. However, her sponsors stopped her before she succeeded in her attempt and informed securitymen from Ahmadi and Mangaf police station.
Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the housemaid.
A case of suicide attempt was filed against her and securitymen detained her in the prison of the area while investigating the circumstances behind the suicide attempt.

Citizen held for drugs: A citizen in his 40s was arrested recently for possession and consumption of drugs.
According to sources, Najda security officers on patrol in Bayan suspected the citizen when they saw him walking unsteadily down a road in Bayan. They stopped him for checking his details and discovered that he is a Kuwaiti citizen.
They checked him to find certain quantity of heroin, 244 narcotic pills and five fingers of hashish.
The suspect was arrested and referred with the illicit items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
