Royal female member accused of swindling KD 260,000
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: An unidentified Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station accusing a female member of Kuwait’s ruling family of swindling him, reports Al-Rai daily.
The complainant said he reached an agreement with the Sheikha to purchase from her a plot of land belonging to her father for KD 260,000. The man added the suspect received the money in cash and gave him a cheque for the amount to keep as surety until the deal was completed.
Since the transaction did not fall through, the man went to a bank to get his money and produced the cheque, but to his surprise he found there was no money in the account of the Sheikha to cover the cheque.
Later he discovered the Sheikha was avoiding meeting him to pay his money under some or the other pretext. He was left with no option but to file a case against her.
