Several Expats robbed inside Salmiya Garden near Fifth Ring Road
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: Several Asian expatriates were assaulted and robbed by four unidentified hooligans inside the Salmiya garden near Fifth Ring Road, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources, officers at Salmiya police station have been receiving several complaints regarding hooligans who assault joggers and picnickers, and rob them inside the garden.
The victims, who were assaulted recently by the suspects, sustained serious injuries and were referred to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the suspects.
‘Rosaries’ worth KD 10,000 stolen: An unidentified person broke into a shop selling rosaries in Kuwait City and escaped with 200 rosaries worth KD 10,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The owner of the shop called the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry and personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department rushed to the scene and lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
Bid to bring in 4 revolvers: A Saudi national was arrested recently at Nuwaiseeb border for attempting to smuggle four revolvers into the country, reports Al-Shahid daily.
Reportedly, when the suspect approached the inspection desk at Nuwaiseeb border, he appeared nervous. This aroused suspicions of the inspectors and they checked his luggage to find four revolvers.
He was referred with the weapons to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
US army man ‘released’: An unidentified US Army man who was taken into custody for attempting to ‘smuggle’ out of the country six rounds of ammunition has been released after he pleaded his innocence, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources the man worked for the US Army and was on his way to Washington after completion of his duty aboard American Airlines Flight No 981.
During interrogation he claimed he did not know it was not permitted to carry ammunition.
Motorist held with drugs: An unidentified individual was arrested recently for reckless driving and possession of drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Reportedly, when police on patrol in Hawally saw a man driving recklessly and stopped him for checking, they realized that he was intoxicated. They checked his vehicle and found three cannabis cigarettes, a piece of hashish and 30 narcotic pills.
He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities along with the illicit items for necessary legal action against him.
