13-year-old expert manages to break into 17 cars in Ramadan
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: A 13-year-old Iranian juvenile was arrested recently for committing several thefts, 17 of which were carried out during Ramadan.
Reportedly, the juvenile was caught stealing a vehicle by its owner, who referred him to the Criminal Investigation Depa-rtment.
During interrogations, the suspect admitted that he stole vehicles and its components. He said he stole specific components of vehicles based on orders placed by three Syrians, who were using him after realizing his special skills in stealing vehicles and its components.
He revealed that he had intensified his activities during Ramadan as many people stayed at home during the daytime, which enabled him to steal the parts of 17 vehicles.
Furthermore, the suspect revealed the names of the shops that bought the parts from him as well as the identities of the three Syrians.
According to sources, officers used the information given by the boy and rushed to the shops of the three Syrians. However, they were missing but the officers were able to find some of the stolen parts in their shops.
Sources added that the boy is living in Kuwait with his mother and his father had sent him away from Iran when many people started accusing the boy of committing thefts.
They stressed that investigations are ongoing to determine if the boy was involved in several other unsolved theft cases and to arrest those who encouraged him to steal.
9 reckless drivers arrested: Securitymen arrested nine reckless drivers, seized their vehicles and issued traffic citations against them during intensive campaigns launched against road recklessness on Al-Ghous Street in Salmiya.
According to a security source, the reckless drivers were caught performing stunts using their vehicles and securitymen discovered that they did not possess driver licenses.
They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
Egyptian steals KD 12,000: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing an Egyptian man of swindling him, reports Al-Rai daily.
The complainant said he paid KD 12,000 to the Egyptian to run a joint business but the latter kept the money for himself and escaped to Egypt.
The complainant added, to add insult to injury the man telephoned from Egypt to inform the victim that he had left Kuwait with the money.
