Given resignation but want to work for 1- 1/2 month instead of 3 months

I am a local hire and have already completed one and half years with my current company. The firm has approved my resignation after I gave them a 3 months notice. Is it possible to work for 1-and-a-half months and pay for the rest of the 3-month notice period? Will they pay me for my leave for half the year? They have not paid for work on the public holidays in my 1-and-half-years with the company. Please I need your support and advice on how I am going to solve this problem, because my joining date in the other company is Aug 5.

Answer: Yes, you can work for 1-1/2 months and pay for the remaining part of the notice period only if your current company agrees to accept the payment.
In case the company does not accept the deal and you leave the firm, it could stop your transfer.
The Ministry of Social Affairs & Labor, after complaints from companies, issued an order not to allow transfers before completion of the 3-month notice period if the companies did not agree to it. So, the permission of the company is essential.
About the payment for the public holidays, you should ask the company for it and if it doesn’t pay you, the Labor Dept in your area can be approached.
You should also be paid for the annual leave that you accrued for the fraction of the year (six months) that you have served after you got your last leave.
