Delay in release
I did a local transfer on May 23, 2011. As per the contract the duty time is 8 hours but I have to work 12 hours with a 15 minutes lunch break. On June 28 I submitted my resignation and went to Shoon (Ministry of Social Affairs & Labor) as per the probation period, but Shoon didn’t accept my complaint. They said I had to wait one year for a release. After one year I went to Shoon and now on the second hearing they said my file (Malaf) was missing. Can you tell what is the next procedure for me to get a release. I don’t have money to pay for a lawyer.

Answer: First of all, the Labor Dept has to find your file and secondly even if it is not found you can get a release because you have already spent one year with the company. The file will only be needed if the company doesn’t give you a release.
As we said, you don’t require it and all you have to do is get a job in another company and transfer to that firm.
Only if the company refuses to sign the transfer letter will you need to go to the Labor Dept. In such case, you will have to file a complaint again with the Labor Dept in your area which will sanction your release.
