According to the law you can ask for a release after 3 years if you are hired from abroad
I am working in a contracting company. I have been working in this company for the last 5 years. I am a mechanical engineer. I have valid a B.E degree in Mechanical and I came on their visa. They hired me from India and I entered in Kuwait on March 11, 2007, which is stamped on my passport. On March 14, 2012, I gave my resignation as I got some better offer.
I asked for a release from them but they are refusing to sign my release papers and telling me to cancel my residence. I request you to please help me get out of this situation.

Answer: There is a very simple solution to this problem. According to the law you can ask for a release after 3 years if you are hired from abroad and you have already spent 5 years with the company.
So, what you should do is file a complaint with the Labor Office in your area, which will sanction your release even if the company doesn’t.
