KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) is preparing a draft bill on the establishment of a special fund for Kuwaiti women with a capital of KD 150 million, reports Al-Horriya quoting Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs and State Minister for Housing and Develop-ment Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd.
Speaking at the diwaniya of MP Hussain Al-Huraiti Tuesday, Sheikh Ahmad revealed the authority will submit the bill to the National Assembly next month. He said the bill covers spinsters, widows and divorcees, clarifying the fund will buy residential units with certain specifications and ready for occupancy in each governorate under the supervision of the Audit Bureau.
Sheikh Ahmad unveiled the authority’s plan to distribute 3,000 apartments to the beneficiaries one month after obtaining approval from the Parliament.
He also confirmed plans to change the structure of the country through the transformation of Blocks Four, Six and 12 in Salmiya into investment zones.
He added the authority will forward a report to HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the root-level solutions to the problems at Al-Sawaber Comp-lex.
Moreover, Sheikh Ahmad said officials at the Credit and Savings Bank (CSB) has laid down a mechanism to address the problems in 2,600 cement houses throughout the country.
He then urged the executive and legislative authorities to cooperate to ensure the proper implementation of the development plan of the government.
