KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: A trip to the Entertainment City turned disastrous for 25 out of 3,000 female students from various intermediate and secondary schools, after they either fainted or sustained injuries in a stampede at the entrance gate of the amusement park. Security officials and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident. While 8 girls were referred to various hospitals, the remaining were given treatment on the spot. The officials also stopped visitors from entering the park till the situation was brought under control.
Parents of the injured were called to collect their daughters and the rest of the students were then ushered to safely by the officials. Officials did not, however, say what caused the stampede. One of them had even a lower total of the students who were injured. Medical Emergency Administration Chief Faisal Al-Ghanim said, ‘five girls were injured in a stampede at the gate of the Entertainment City.’ The injured students were taken to Al-Sabah Hospital for necessary medical treatment, he added. Some cases were treated at the site where several ambulances were stationed for emergency, the official added.
