Kuwaiti in US gets 15 yrs jail for giving liquor to minor girl, abuse

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: Security officers on routine patrol arrested a motorist in possession of eight pills of illicit drugs and a finger of hashish.
Security sources said the motorist was driving in excessive speed when securitymen spotted him, and was ordered to stop. A check on his details showed he was not wanted for any crime. However, the officers uncovered the contraband, which had been hidden inside the vehicle, after a careful search. He was taken into custody and a case registered against him.

Kuwaiti gets 15 years jail: A Kuwait man studying for his Doctorate Degree in the United States of America has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a Florida Court for giving whisky to a minor girl and molesting another, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added the man has appealed the verdict and his brother who lives with him has reportedly hired another lawyer to defend him.
According to reports the man owns a cafeteria and he allegedly gave one of the girls, whisky to drink and molested another inside the cafeteria.
After the Kuwaiti officials were informed about the case, the Kuwaiti Embassy in the United States said it will hire a lawyer to defend the man and try to convince the family of the plaintiffs to agree to an out of court settlement but all attempts are said to have failed because the family of one of the ‘victims’ is demanding $250,000 to withdraw the case and the other family members are religious extremists.
The lawyer explained the punishment in State of Florida is severe and laws there don’t allow those under 21 to consume alcohol.
After the verdict was issued the Kuwaiti was taken to the central jail in Tallahassee, State of Florida. He has been kept isolated from other prisoners for fearing of he being attacked by gangs inside the prison.
