KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: Two juveniles ages 15 and 16 and another adult possessing unlicensed weapons and ammunition and carrying extremist ideology were arrested by the Ministry of Interior.
The MOI stated based on cooperation between security agencies after searching and investigating the outlaws one of the accused was arrested, who admitted that he had met a person through a social media where discussion had taken place between them, it became clear that they carry the same extremist ideology.
After conducting further investigations and intensifying search and investigation operations and collecting information, two other persons were arrested. After taking legal permission their homes were searched and unlicensed weapons and ammunition, logos and photographic devices were found, reports Al Anba. They acknowledged and confessed that they possessed weapons and ammunition. The seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them. The Ministry of Interior has called on parents to pay attention to children, approach them, hear their concerns, discuss, advise and follow them when using social media sites, so that they do not fall prey to extremist ideas.
A security source stated that in the Fahaheel area an Iraqi expat who was an ISIS militant had lured and pushed him to embrace the ideas of the extremist organization. Kuwaiti authorities had contacted the Iraqi security authorities during the past hours to inform them of the identity of the ISIS militant who communicated with the Kuwaiti juvenile with the aim of arresting him by the Iraqi authorities and interrogating him.
Verbal instructions were issued last Thursday evening to most security sectors to deploy in the vicinity of important and vital installations, whether they are places of worship, oil installations or commercial complexes, in addition to the deployment of visible security represented by the special forces, security patrols and security men in their military uniform.
