MP Saleh Ashour

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: MP Saleh Ashour Sunday presented a grilling request against Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh containing three major points:

■ Deviation from applying the law, and misuse of power

■ Failure in achieving reform and development, mismanagement, and inability to perform the duties assigned to her especially regarding the demographic structure and replacement of expatriate workers with Kuwaitis

Lack of success in planning and developing the state standards After presenting the grilling request, Ashour insisted that the objective behind presenting the motion against Minister Hind Al-Sabeeh is to achieve the interests of the country and citizens.

He affirmed that he will not allow anyone to question his grilling request or attempt to describe it as sectarian.

Ashour called on Al-Sabeeh to stand on the podium, face the grilling points, and respond to them without escaping. He also called on all members of the National Assembly to avoid criticizing the interpellation before looking into its points and listening to the parties.

He made indications about some surprises to emerge during the discussion, which may lead to removal of the minister from her post.

In this regard, the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim confirmed the receipt of the interpellation request submitted by MP Saleh Ashour against Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh, affirming that the minister has been informed.

He indicated that this matter will be included in the agenda of the session on May 1, which brings the number of interpellations to be discussed in the session to three. Al-Ghanim said he hopes there will be time to complete the agenda, adding, “If the discussion on the grilling requests does not end in the Tuesday session, it will be completed on Wednesday”.
