Three Asians dead, 3 hurt as two boats collide at sea

Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, General Essam Al-Nham, visits the injured of the Coast Guard personnel in a boat collision

KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Three Asian expatriates died and three individuals including a Kuwaiti citizen and two Coast Guard officers sustained injuries when a boat affiliated to the Coast Guard Department collided with a civilian boat in the sea in south of Kuwait.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that three Asian expatriates died.

Two officers and a Kuwaiti citizen who had sustained injuries in the accident were referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. The corpses of the deceased were referred to the Forensics Department. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident. Sources from Ministry of Interior revealed that the ministry’s Undersecretary Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham visited the three injured victims in the hospital, and conveyed well-wished from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah. The ministry offered condolences to the families of the deceased expatriates.
