KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation said today the total passenger movement to and from the Kuwait International Airport this September was 1,250,456 passengers.
Acting Director General of the Department, Imad Al-Jalawi, told KUNA that last September, the Kuwait International Airport witnessed an increase in passenger traffic by 11 percent and an increase in aircraft traffic by 19 percent, while air cargo traffic increased by 8 percent, compared to the same month last year.
He explained the movement of arriving passengers reached 675,768 passengers last September, while the number of outgoing passengers was 574,688, while the total number of transit passengers reached 142,628, an increase of 44 percent over September of 2022.
He added that the total aircraft movement that was operated to and from the Airport during September was 11,814 flights, compared to 9,933 flights in the same month of last year, pointing out that the most popular destinations last September were Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul, Sabiha, Jeddah, and Doha.
Regarding air freight movement, Al-Jalawi reported that freight movement last September was about 18.9 million kilograms, with about 14.8 million kilograms of incoming freight and about 4.1 million kilograms of outgoing freight.
