10-Year Prison Sentence Over Terror Plot to Bomb Arifjan Camp

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: The Criminal Court has sentenced security personnel from the Ministry of Interior to 10 years in prison on charges of inciting his colleague to detonate an explosive belt at Arifjan Camp, manufacture explosives, and posting videos supporting ISIS. The court acquitted the second and third defendants in the case.

The Public Prosecution accused the defendants of affiliating with ISIS and conspiring to attack Arifjan Camp. One of the defendants, a security personnel in the Ministry of Interior, was charged with attempting to incite another security personnel to carry out the attack, pledging allegiance to ISIS, producing videos in support of the organization, and encouraging others to join ISIS. The State Security Service arrested the defendants but denied all charges during the trial.
