KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: The Ministry of Public Works will terminate the services of 120 expatriate workers in a fortnight’s time, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the concerned departments have shortlisted the names of foreign workers who will lose their jobs and that a list of names has been submitted to the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr Rana Al-Faris.
The sources explained Minister Al-Faris has developed a plan to terminate all expatriate employees working in the ministry by March 2021, the end of the current fiscal year.
The sources pointed this comes within the framework of the replacement or the Kuwaitization pursued by the state, to provide more employment opportunities to what the sources called ‘the people of the country’ to occupy the jobs of non-Kuwaitis.
