KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: The emergency team of the Shuwaikh Inspection Center (B), under the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, recently conducted an inspection of food establishments in the Shuwaikh area. This inspection led to the destruction of 125 kilograms of meat deemed unfit for human consumption, as well as spoiled food items, and the issuance of 12 violations.
Maha Al-Ghoul, Head of the Shuwaikh Food Inspection Center (B), informed Al-Rai that following directives from the Director of the Capital Administration, Ali Al-Kandari, the team intensified inspection tours across marketing centers, cooperative societies, and food stores. During last Thursday's inspection of several Shuwaikh stores, 12 violations were recorded. These included the sale of expired or unfit food items, unauthorized use of additional space beyond the licensed area, failure to comply with general health requirements, and workers handling food without valid health certificates.
Al-Ghoul further explained that violations also included the distribution of food that did not meet technical and health standards, as well as cases where workers handled food with expired health certificates or were employed without valid certificates.
During the inspection, 125 kilograms of food items unfit for consumption were destroyed. Al-Ghoul urged all food establishments to adhere strictly to the health requirements set by the General Authority for Food and Nutrition to ensure the safety of food products.
The Shuwaikh Food Inspection Center (B) team that conducted the inspection included inspectors Zainab Abdul Jalil Qasim, Manar Badr Al-Ateeq, Fatima Saad Al-Mutairi, and Farah Khalifa Al-Enezi.
