KUWAIT CITY, April 26: The Ministry of Interior on Friday launched a comprehensive security, traffic, and public awareness campaign in the Khaitan area, following directives from Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah. The operation involved multiple field units from the Ministry, including the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Emergency Police, the Central General Department of Operations, and the Public Security Affairs Sector.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the campaign led to the referral of two individuals to the Anti-Narcotics Department, the arrest of four others, and the detention of five individuals with outstanding absence notices. Additionally, 13 individuals were arrested for residency violations. Authorities also impounded two vehicles—one for committing serious traffic violations and another wanted by judicial authorities. A total of 184 traffic violations were recorded during the operation.

As part of the public awareness effort, 4,000 brochures on traffic laws and regulations were distributed to residents and motorists in the area. The Ministry affirmed that such campaigns aim to uphold law and order, enhance road safety, and raise public awareness regarding legal and traffic-related responsibilities.
