KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Thirteen young Kuwaitis won the “Kuwait Hackathon” competition. Taking part in the competition were 286 contestants. The five winners took the first place, four the second place and four came in third place.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, sponsor of the event, who was present during the closing ceremony, described the competition as “an important step towards enhancing and developing the capabilities and skills of our national cadres, sons and daughters of Kuwait, whose aim is to protect information security.”

For his part, CEO of Coded Academy, Ahmed Marafi, said the competition enhances the technological expertise of Kuwaiti youth, adding that the event witnessed excellent participation and a clear turnout from the contestants, because the competition is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and is concerned with the cybersecurity specialists, reports Al-Qabas daily.
