KUWAIT CITY, April 19: As part of ongoing joint efforts to address serious violations and negative activities that threaten the safety and security of residents, an extensive security campaign was conducted under the direct supervision of His Excellency the Acting Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

The campaign was led by the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigations, in collaboration with several relevant government agencies. It targeted unauthorized commercial establishments operating within residential homes in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. Participating agencies included the General Fire Force, Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Public Works, Environment Public Authority, and the Public Authority for Manpower.

Over the five-day operation, 40 violating properties were identified, and 89 violations were issued for operating unlicensed commercial activities. The campaign also led to the arrest of 147 individuals, including one person wanted for theft, 29 absconders, and 117 violators of residency and labor laws. All detainees were referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

Electricity was disconnected from unlicensed sites, and official reports and warnings were issued in coordination with the participating agencies. Moving forward, power will be immediately cut off from any establishment found violating regulations, in order to ensure public safety and reduce the risks associated with unlicensed commercial activity in residential areas. The Ministry of Interior reaffirms its commitment to continuing such field campaigns in cooperation with the relevant authorities as part of a comprehensive strategy to curb violations that endanger lives and property.
