KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: 150,000 expatriates, 16,000 Kuwaiti citizens, and 70,000 Bedouns have yet to complete their biometric fingerprint registration, according to a security source. The Ministry of Interior continues to operate biometric centers across the six governorates, with the number of registrations steadily increasing.
The source noted that 45% of Kuwaiti citizens who have not registered include expatriates, diplomats, students, and individuals evading legal action due to financial or criminal cases. Some expatriates also remain unregistered due to cases of absence or violations.
The Ministry praised the citizens and residents who complied with the biometric fingerprint initiative, describing it as a significant national project to enhance security. The biometric system helps combat passport forgery, track wanted individuals, and establish a secure electronic database for all those entering Kuwait. Since its launch last year, the initiative has improved security measures and expedited transactions for residents and citizens alike.
