KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: The Ministry of Interior announced that the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department for Combating Narcotics, has arrested 17 individuals of various nationalities for illegal alcoholic beverages trade across different locations in the country. Authorities seized 1,284 bottles of alcohol of various types and sizes during the operation.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry explained that this operation is part of the General Department for Combating Narcotics' ongoing security efforts and proactive measures to apprehend smugglers and dealers of prohibited substances. The estimated market value of the confiscated alcohol is approximately 100,000 Kuwaiti dinars. The suspects, along with the seized items, have been referred to the Drugs and Alcohols Prosecution for further legal action.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing intensive security campaigns to arrest those involved in the trafficking and promotion of narcotics and other prohibited substances. These efforts aim to safeguard society from the dangers of these substances and ensure the security and safety of both citizens and residents.
