2 contracts inked for low-cost housing

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has announced the signing of the first two contracts for the construction of 3,345 houses and complete infrastructure and public buildings in the low-cost housing project located 16 kilometers South of Salmi Road from Jahra City, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide affordable housing for citizens.

The authority said the first contract is for the construction of 1,568 houses of various models and infrastructure works related to the low and medium-voltage electrical network, road lighting, and surface asphalt layers, which will be completed within 1,095 days. The second contract is for the construction of 1,777 houses; in addition to primary, intermediate, and secondary schools, main mosques, housing for the Imams and Muezzins, and fire and ambulance centers that will be completed within 1,095 days.

The authority stated that the signing of these two contracts is in line with its commitment to achieve strategic goals like the implementation of integrated housing projects to improve the standard of living, support social development in the country, and achieve the development goals in the New Kuwait 2035 vision. Sources told the newspaper that PAHW launched two tenders for consulting services and supervision of the construction of 3,685 houses; hinting that the winning consulting company will be announced soon.
