KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The Criminal Security Division, comprising the General Department for Drug Control and the General Department of Criminal Investigation, successfully apprehended 21 individuals of various nationalities in 14 separate operations. These individuals were found in possession of approximately 7 kilograms of assorted narcotics, 790 psychotropic drugs, 500 pills of liquid GHP (Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate), 171 bottles of alcohol, ammunition, and cash. In an official statement issued on this Tuesday, the Ministry’s General Department of Relations and Security Media revealed that the suspects admitted ownership of the confiscated items, acknowledging their intent for drug trafficking and personal usage.
Consequently, both the suspects and the seized contraband were handed over to the appropriate authorities for further legal actions. The statement reaffirmed the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to combat drug traffickers and smugglers. It underlined the continuous and vigorous security measures implemented to apprehend individuals involved in the illicit trade and use of narcotics, with the aim of safeguarding society from these perilous threats. Emphasizing the collective responsibility to eradicate drug peddlers and promoters, the Ministry urged cooperation with law enforcement personnel and encouraged reporting of any suspicious activities through the emergency Hotline at 112 or the dedicated Hotline for the General Administration for Drug Control at 1884141.
