KUWAIT CITY, Apr 16: Intensive campaign by the Ministry of Interior have resulted in fall of visa traders in Kuwait
The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of 28 Kuwaiti citizens pending investigation for their involvement in human trafficking and bringing bulk labor from different countries in exchange for money for each person and granting them a visa or renewing their residency without giving them any jobs.
The prosecution had received 6 reports from the Ministry of the Interior including the names of citizens and expatriates working on fake companies that brought in expatriates for sums of money without providing any work for them.
Most of those companies were involved in submitting absconding reports against these expatriate workers, so that new expat workers could be brought in by selling visas from 1500 dinars per expatriate without providing work for expats.
Informed sources revealed that the Public Prosecution Office reported from the Ministry of Interior a large number of the files of residency dealers which will be referred to take the appropriate action with those who caused amassing migrant workers in Kuwait from all countries.
The prosecution ordered the detectives to arrest and bring the partners of the owners of the companies who are expatriates and were bringing their countrymen in exchange for sums of money.
On the other hand the prosecution decided to continue the detention of an officer with the rank of colonel in the Ministry of Interior and 6 Egyptian partners for him, for the sixth day pending the investigation, for their involvement in human trafficking and bringing workers from Egypt in exchange for financial sums.
